First meeting of the Cookbook Club a hit!

Our first meeting of Cookbook Club this past Tuesday was fun and delicious!  There were 17 people who attended and shared a dish from The Spices of Life!

The author of the cookbook, Nina Simonds, gave a great presentation about how she traveled to Taipei at the age of 19 in 1975 to learn classic chinese cooking.  She then went on to correspond with Julia Child and traveled to France to learn even more about cooking.

Be sure to join us for the December 9th meeting at the Fowler Branch Library in West Concord. Required registration starts on Wed., November 25th.  Copies of the next cookbook, The Nantucket Holiday Table by Susan Simon will be available at both libraries starting on November 25th.

Welcome to the Concord Library Cookbook Club blog!

The first meeting of the Cookbook Club is Tuesday, November 10th at 12:30 p.m. in the Trustees Room of the Main Library (129 Main St. Concord, MA).

Each month we select a cookbook. The library will have multiple copies of the selected cookbook at the circulation desk. Each member checks a copy out and brings it home to read.  Then they select one recipe to prepare at home and bring to the following meeting.

The first cookbook is Spices of Life: Simple and Delicious Recipes for Great Health by Nina Simonds. Ms. Simonds is a local author and will be present at the meeting to talk to the group about her start in cooking, authorship, and travel.

Registration is required. Register online, via phone (978-318-3349) or in person.
